Tuesday
I am extremely so-so-ish about this day. "Extremely", because I am an alcoholic and I don't do "just" so-so.
I picked up a new sponsee last night. She has a couple of years sober, which makes the extra work load easier for me. When I get a new sponsee who has already worked the steps, I like to go thru the 12x12 with them. The 12 step essays and the 12 traditions.
Someone saw my son (brother) yesterday. They said he looked "bad". I wish they had been more specific. "Bad" like he needs a shave and hair cut or "bad" like he has been up for 3 days on meth?
I lifted him up to God. I believe God is very fond of meth addicts. Their hearts are so ripe for the pickin'.
Stayin' in this day in front of me.
Pammie

14 OK JUST SAY IT!:
You know I work in a hospital..I used to dread coming in and have someone say.."uh, your son was in here last night."
It is evident you are extremely so-so today since there is no blue picture as accompaniment. If someone said to me that brother looked bad I would have been tempted to correct their grammar.
Seems like many out here in blogger land are getting "bad" news from people with "good" intentions.
HERE'S to today!!
I'm with you. What exactly does "bad" mean? Bad like he was wearing a plaid shirt with striped shorts? Or the "other" type of bad?
I did the same with my husband. I have left him in God's hands. He's got a much better chance in His hands then mine.
Have a wonderful day Pam...even if it is so-so.
I would like to think "bad" means that much closer to a bottom which brings him that much closer to recovery. I like to stay optimistic that way. I'll pray too.
((((Pammie))))
Brother Pants?
I figure when people say something like that, they are just trying to understate and be kind which might have been better if they had just been even kinder and delivered the prayer themselves and left it out of the conversation but I have no idea and no right to judge but I do it anyway because I'm human and that's the best that it can get for me today...
I need some coffee...
Blessings and aloha to you and yours...
Sometimes bad has to come before good can. And I agree about God having a special place in his heart for meth addicts.
First of all, did that someone need to tell you "I saw your son and he looks bad"? Without explaining? You might as well just stab me in the heart. Just say'in.
So similar, similar, similar--right now this week. So I need to hear "stayin' in the day" as often as another will write it.
God I lift up Pam's brother, I know you are with him, please keep him safe from harm and show him Your love.
So-so is so much better than ICKY.
How's your Mom doing? She's still on my prayer list with you and others. LUV YA.
Geez woman...like you needed one more thing on your plate this month, eh?
I'm not clear if it's your brother or your son, but geez...enough is enough. You are blessed to have so many surrounding you that love you.
I hope tomorrow is a GREAT day!
I interpret someone looking bad, as they looked like shit and f__ked up. Just my dismal take. I had a long day today and am glad that it is almost over. Tomorrow has a lot of new promise and will be a good one, if I let it be that way. Night to you Pammie. Sweet dreams.
